The IEO will be hosting International FEI trainer and competitor Jenny Veenstra for an *unmounted* evening symposium. Jenny will do a presentation discussing the optimization of training for the rider based upon their inherit learning style and personality type. The symposium will include some hands-on testing and interactive participant demonstrations. This is a GREAT presentation for both trainers and students!
During this symposium Jenny will review the main “action-type athletes” as evaluated through a European conglomerate program that identified the inherent biomechanics and personality profiles of high-performance athletes. She will discuss how this knowledge was utilized to identify useful training tools for creating continued excellence and performance optimization for athletes using this scale. There will also be an outline of the further research done that attached personality-type traits (similar to Myers-Briggs type of personality identification) to athletes and how each type best learns and responds to performance stress. These insights provide invaluable training tools for both riders and trainers with some fascinating information about not only what makes a great athlete great, but also how we, as individuals, can pull our best abilities forward. There will be time for Jenny to do the demonstrate the basic action type testing on some of our participants so that they can get a live demo experience.
